Photo Releases
When it comes to photos that include patients and/or their information (even in a background image), patient privacy comes first. Any patient featured in a photo, video, written testimonial or media interview must complete a photo release form.
This form gives Marshall Health Network and its affiliates as well as the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine written permission to disclose a patient’s information for a variety of platforms, including but not limited to printed materials, social media, advertisements, presentations and websites.
Additional federal regulations from the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration apply to patients with substance use disorder, which are reflected on the photo release form.
